Fighting the Big Virus Children’s Book
(Also available in Spanish, simplified Chinese, Finnish, Portuguese, and Mandarin)
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network developed this children’s book, to help young children and families talk about their experiences and feelings about COVID-19 and the need to shelter in place. A caregiver guide is available in the back of the book that provides ways parents can use the story with their children.

Talking to Children About COVID-19 | A Parent Resource
(Available in English, Spanish, Amharic, Chinese, and Korean)
Children look to adults for guidance on how to react to stressful events such as COVID-19. They need calmly delivered, factual information that’s age appropriate, with concrete instruction about positive preventive measures. This guidance comes from the National Association of School Nurses and the National Association of School Psychologists.

Supporting Families with PBIS at Home

It is especially helpful when events disrupt normal routines – events like worldwide health pandemics. (Available in English and Spanish) | Two separate resources: (a) a 1-page infographic that offers suggestions for how to prepare for a virtual meeting (especially an IEP meeting), technology tips, and tips on participation during the meeting; and (b) a 1-page sample agenda for such a meeting, including possible roles that team members can play, 6 topics to cover during the meeting, and how much time to devote to a topic.
